Leaving them running around unattended might rouse some speedy idea. Inevitably, instead of showering the warmest greetings, they might come slinging that welcome memo with a humorous jab.

We've all bragged about spotting movie stars at airports. But imagine seeing a real movie character on your flight. The 'Forrest Gump' lookalike from the movie of the same name was spotted at the Nashville Airport. The similarity was so prominent that even the sneakers matched.

We do not know who the person was or why he was dressed like Gump. But we couldn't help thinking if he would unite with his beloved Jane from the movie. In any case, the passengers must have felt like they are in a movie scene. Probably they were waiting for a chance to shout, 'run, Forrest, run!', just like in the movie.

Welcome back signs are a sweet gesture most families enjoy doing for their loved ones. You can notice people holding up signs for the people they are about to pick, beaming proudly about their return. However, not all such airport greetings are the same - some are a little more out there design-wise than others.

Speaking of weird signs, this poor young man's friends and family decided to use a giant picture of his to help him navigate to them. For most people, their pets are an essential part of their life. Hence, every time they travel, they take their furry companions with them and enjoy quality time together everywhere they go. Most airports do not have suitable arrangements for these animals to relieve themselves, making life very difficult for pet-owners in transit with their beloved dogs or cats.

Yet, just between us, our feeling is that this new dad had absolutely no idea he would be coming home to a new family member. Although, we don't really see anyone else in the photograph, so we just hope the baby's mother was somewhere nearby and hadn't just left this homecoming dad with this surprise.

Nobody likes it when they have finally reached their destination, and the airport authorities make them wait around idly for the baggage. We know the frustration; yes, we do! Yet, unfortunately, the baggage claim has to be the scariest and exhausting part of the journey for frequent flyers.

We guess that this person had just had enough of it and took it to the next level. From the looks of it, maybe a switch just went off in their mind, urging them to go looking for their luggage on the conveyer belt itself. We hope their day didn't get any worse than this since it's pretty standard for baggage to keep getting misplaced in transit too.

After a plane crash near Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow, the plane's debris got left on site as a scene preservation measure. It's pretty terrible for the faint of heart and especially for someone who doesn't understand how air holds up a heavy plane; this sight could get when coupled with a bit of turbulence. Traveling by air could sometimes be a hassle since delays like weather problems, schedule changes, or even cancellations could happen. It's even worse if one hasn't slept because they hope to do so on the plane. This kind of situation could inspire innovation in just about any bleary-eyed traveler.

'No pillows and mattresses at the airport' is probably what this man got told when he made inquiries. So the genius guy found a way to both find the best sleep position and, at the same time, be able to know if his briefcase is about to get stolen. It is not a very comfortable position but, he looks deeply asleep, so who are we to judge?

Safety is an indispensable element when it comes to air travel. It's not just about aeronautics maintenance and technical issues, but some of the passengers' personal belongings might potentially threaten everyone else's safety on board.

Durians are not innocuous as people think because apart from their noxious odor, they can cause significant health discomfort and allergic reactions— just imagine if the pilot happens to be allergic! Also, weight limits are critical for airplanes, and since there is no way of determining the amount of liquid in snow globes, they've also gotten banned. Our advice is that changing souvenirs would be a better way to go during the Holiday season.

Some people like to be alone when traveling, and some prefer seclusion because they're just germophobes. Since it's no secret that planes can be seedbeds for widespread germs, cautious travelers just don't take any chances. That might as well be the case of this man here.

Another possibility is that he's a music lover— Maybe he likes his jazz with his eyes peacefully shut. He probably also likes his headphones on active duty at all times, but being in a public environment should mean either his eyes or ears be also on duty. At this terminal, travelers get greeted by luggage towers standing tall, making an incredible spectacle for everyone passing through.

We must say these towers are impressively conceived art sculptures that add to the quirkiness of the airport. One can only wonder about the kind of creative energy interior decorators possess to come up with such ideas! Next time you visit this airport for a trip, make it a point to check these out.

Keep Away From The Runway

Can you imagine airports without signboards? Absolutely not! Imagine the chaos when no one knows where to go because of no indications. With that said, some signboards are more critical than others. Here is one example from St. Maarten’s Princess Juliana Airport that is of particular significance.

Frequent travelers might have seen a few similar warning signs around airports, but this one is rare. The parking lot on this facility is incredibly close to the actual runway, and that is a severe safety hazard and could lead to life-threatening accidents if ignored. This close proximity between zooming jets and pedestrians is also what gives the Caribbean its unsafe reputation.

Animals are always a safety hazard in areas where there's a safety threat. Most airports are aware of the damage that these wild creatures could bring to the infrastructure and the people. While it's difficult to control their movements, one could always limit them. Most airports have come up with traps to keep these animals away.

However, the Cherry Capital Airport in Michigan has come up with an innovative idea to overcome this problem. They have appointed a border collie named Piper, who chases away the animals and keeps the people safe. The best part? He looks absolutely fantastic in his uniform!

At first glance, this picture can induce a panic attack in anybody. There are too many airplanes flying a bit too close to one another. Before you overthink this, let us break it to you: It's not real. Though it might seem like it is, it's just an image. Had this been real, there were chances of an astronomical collision happening in LA.

The story behind this will still blow your mind. Photographer Mike Kelley made a photoshopped image from 400 individual photos. This doctored picture depicts flights departing from the runway of LAX Los Angeles' International Airport. The artist called this thrilling masterpiece 'Wake Turbulence.'

Penguins On The Flight

The story behind this picture might seem like a plot out of a novel. What is human life without surprises anyway? These penguins in the picture got threatened by poachers and led away from their homes. Fortunately, they were saved by penguin conservationists.

Traveling with a penguin might not be as easy as one thinks it is. In fact, transporting these birds back to their native habitat, an island off to Port Elizabeth in South Africa, required a lot of effort. Interestingly, the people in charge of their safety planned that the best way to transport the Penguins back to their habitat would be a commercial flight. How we wish we were there to witness it!

Polar bears aren’t something you see or even expect to see in an airport, but this is not always the case in Alaska. Obviously, because of the extreme temperatures and conditions that aren’t in other places. What’s entertaining is how unruffled the bear in this photo actually seems.

It’s like he got dared by humans to come to this part of their world and didn’t even stop to think twice about it. The bear king came to conquer humans for his tribe bears. Suffice to say, passengers at the Alaskan airport on this day sure did enjoy a little more amusement than usual on this day.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any creepier on the Internet, it does again. So Jasmine logged onto her social media while at the airport and must have hurriedly rushed off when her time to board came, forgetting to log out.

These two airport workers could have done an awfully much worse thing than take this goofy picture of themselves and leave her a message reminding her to remember logging out next time. Here's a classic case of minding one's business, but now this is two people's funny business at an airport that we can't help but meddle. These guys here decided to bring the aerobics to the airport and so far as you can see, it's going pretty well.

They could have been doing this for attention, like this precise one we're giving them or entirely for themselves, without caring what people will think or say. The latter excites us much. On the other hand, at least they managed to get people off of their phones for a minute and put a smile on their faces. Either way, it's a win-win!

But First Presents

Christmas is a fun time because we get to end our year with presents from family and friends, sometimes even from random people. These passengers must have been delighted when they went to pick their luggage but first found gifts on the conveyer belt instead. At that moment, these passengers could forget stressing over claiming their baggage and enjoying the Christmas spirit, all thanks to Spainair.

Let's not forget to mention that these surprise gifts were so thoughtful that the passengers will probably never forget this heartwarming moment. The world sure does need a lot more of this kindness. Now time to find that luggage, please.

A Pilot's Eye

Aren't women pilots simply amazing? This lady right here is a representation of beauty, experience, and brains. What we find amusing is of all the places she could sit pretty and pose for a picture on the plane, this lady pilot decided to take photos on the engine pit.

However, since this is none other than Swedish Maria Petterson, who not only loves flying planes but doing yoga around the aircraft, we'll excuse her for eccentric choice of backdrop. It's still a beautiful picture, and Maria's known to capture some truly jaw-dropping shots of herself at work that she frequently uploads on her social media, so do check it out.

The Beachy Runway

Maho beach is one of the busiest places in the Caribbean, with tourists flocking in and out throughout. Well, it isn't just sunbathing that is a popular activity on the shore, but we often spot sightseers waiting to catch a glimpse of the airplanes that fly overhead just meters above the land.

While some visitors try catching selfies with the jets, others are simply unmoved by the loud intrusion. From this image, it looks like a disaster could happen at any moment, yet surprisingly, the safety record at this beach is impeccable. This destination wouldn't be an ideal place to go if you are looking for a beachfront that's peaceful and quiet.

Get In Line Behind Grandma

It is not always what it looks like, as what may seem like a bunch of happy people posing for a groupie are, in reality, several individuals stuck behind the grandma. Given her age, it is understandable that the lady is walking at her own pace; Though not letting anyone pass ahead of her seems a little too extreme.

Luckily this happened when the passengers were getting off the plane, and anyways from the woman's expressions, it is evident that she seems to be unbothered by the crowd formed behind her. So at least the group did not get frustrated and decided to make the most of it by capturing this hilarious moment.

 

Nun Shall Pass

The airport security checks are a routine, and we understand its importance as it is a matter of security for the people in general. So when we see random passengers getting frisked for suspicious materials on them, it is surprising to see a nun having to undergo this process.

We are glad the TSA takes their jobs too seriously, but we assume, like us, many of you too would be stunned after looking at this image. So though this isn't something we expected, we believe the security did not find anything on the poor lady. Undoubtedly this religious woman wouldn't have thought she would have to wait a little longer before getting on the plane.

Prepare To Wait

Once at the airport, one has no option but to wait in long queues, whether at the baggage counter or the security check. While most of us have no problem waiting, in such cases, what is frustrating is standing in line when nature calls. As accurate as this sign is that as the waiting gets longer, the more difficult it gets to stand straight.

Since this Chinese airport fell short on the number of bathrooms, the authorities decided to at least make the travelers laugh with these signs. Yet, unfortunately, they didn't realize it gets harder to keep the bladder under control if one tries to laugh a little extra.

In Her Case

Sure we all prefer to save a few bucks, but this couple went an extra mile on cost-cutting. It looks like since the lady was leaving for a vacation, she decided to sneak in her partner in a bag to not pay for an additional ticket. They did get creative to avoid spending some cash, but their creativity ended up putting the man in an awkward position.

Also, did they think that the pair would pass through all the security checks without getting caught? We aren't sure what happened after the duo got busted, but we hope the man did not end up behind bars. At least now we know no one will attempt something like this in the future.

Finding Comfort Everywhere

Out of all the bizarre things we've seen in this list, sleeping at the airport isn't an unusual occurrence. Yet, the place this man lay to take a short nap isn't the ideal spot. Understandably, the individual got exhausted while waiting for his turn, so he decided to rest on the floor.

Lucky for him, the other passengers did not wake him from his deep slumber and worked their way around him. We assume the person is exhausted after a long flight and couldn't take it anymore, and that's why he could sleep so peacefully despite the noise and hustle-bustle in the vicinity. It would have been prudent if the man looked for an empty chair for his nap.

Wheels On The Free Way

The highway was made for all sorts of wheels, right? Well, we doubt that this creative pair set out to prove this point but it certainly is intriguing. The hustle of getting to the airport in good time, especially on a traffic-riddled day, can be nerve-wracking, to say the least.

This duo decided to hop on a motorbike and wheel the bag behind them. We have a feeling that the bag was not in stellar condition by the time they made it for the flight. We have to applaud the one who fashioned this solution though, he/she should get an award for thinking outside the box.

The plane runway in Gibraltar's international airport runs right through a busy highway. We imagine that this can be daunting, not to mention potentially dangerous, especially if an airplane needs to make an emergency landing and there are cars racing on the road.

Normally, traffic has to stop to allow for jets to take off, then a green light is given for motorists to resume their journey. This is probably vexing if a flight is scheduled at a time when one is running late for work. We can't imagine that it would be fun waiting. Seriously, whose design idea was this? We need to have a chat with them.

Carry-on Bag

Who knew that luggage bags with wheels were such good transport means? This little girl represents the mood of all travelers, especially during layoffs. She literally turned the suitcase into a mobile bed and the father is quite content to wheel her around as she naps.

This gives a whole new meaning to carry-on bags. We do not imagine that this is a trend that will catch on but it is quite genius of this lass. The next time we are exhausted by the endless queues at the airport we may be tempted to try this. Stranger things have happened; onlookers will not be too stunned, we hope!

Mass production of items has made all of us victims of confusion at some point in life. It is especially difficult to single out one’s luggage at the airport when the tag falls off. After a long flight, all anybody wants is to grab their bag and head out.

Frankly, this looks a little extreme, the champ was probably gifted this carry-on by his friend in jest. Either way, he is not taking chances with his possessions anymore.

Full Body Shiners

As much as we want to think that this was gimmicky, turns out it really happened. Comic-con attracts all sorts of geeky crowds and this duo had some minutes to spare to get their armor polished. On this day, these shoe shiners became full-fledged body suits polishers.

It is not every day that one gets such customers; we imagine they had fun executing the task. Not to mention the money they made with the odd request. We suppose that it is a story the pair will tell for many years to come. It takes some serious commitment to pull this off but we certainly are glad it took place and entertained us.

No Adults Here

We cannot get over the fact that this grown-up man wore a onesie with penguins all over it for the welcoming of his parents at the airport. We suppose that it was necessary to tie up the look with the message on the board because he simply refuses to take up the adulting duties.

Mom and dad must have had a good laugh at this warm welcome and reminder that they are never off duty. We hope that they brought in some fancy cereals from their trip abroad otherwise this son will throw a tantrum. Okay, maybe that will be pushing it a little too far but we certainly are here for the dedication.

Timed Affection

Saying goodbye to a loved one before they travel can be quite emotional and at times people forget that time passes while they do that. This airport in Denmark came up with a creative way of solving the matter with a "Kiss and Goodbye" area and sign. The best part is the time assigned for each adios session; 3 minutes, that's what!

Luckily, this keeps traffic flowing without people lingering for lengthy sessions. It may feel like a short moment to people who really do not wish their significant others to travel but it sure is an effective system. More airports around the world should certainly adopt it.

No Straying

Anyone who has traveled with children knows how hectic the undertaking can be. The young ones, full of energy, would scamper about playing or just running around, and it takes a lot of patience to deal with them.

This lady thought up one of the unique solutions we have seen, tying her kids in leashes at the airport. While it might have worked for a short moment, the plan seems to be backfiring massively by the looks of things. Maybe she's better off letting them play until they're tired or giving them some toys to keep them engaged until takeoff.

Grounded Indefinitely

Like any other mode of transport, flights can be heavily affected by natural disasters, and when they strike, it means there will be no planes flying in or out. These people were on their way back home to Asia when terrible weather conditions rendered their aircraft grounded for a couple of days, and they all had to make do with the airport space like a hostel.

The travelers made makeshift beds using cardboard boxes and got some much-needed snooze time. The method seems to have worked, and while they look like they're homeless, at least they were warm and well-rested by the time the skies cleared.

Are We Secure?

For the most part, airports are considered among the safest places of any transport institution. The security checks are usually thorough to keep any malicious folks off of the planes where they can cause unprecedented damage.

Thus, when this image cropped up on social media showing a security guard playing a solitaire game on the PC, many people were shocked and angry at the same time. It's expected that the guards are on the lookout at all times, but it seems this one decided to take a break instead of checking the travelers' passports. It could be that there are two computers they use, and the game was a way of blowing off some steam.

Dealing with an empty phone battery can be a nightmare; imagine running out of power when waiting for your flight at an airport. The whole ordeal can be depressing as we're used to keeping in constant touch with our loved ones, and luckily, most airports have installed charging outlets.

Still, this person didn't think it was fair for the premises to bill him for charging his device, so he devised a funny way to get past the cost. He unplugged the outlet machine, then plugged in his gadget. This is a brilliant idea, to say the least, and we wonder if the management ever found out about his little trick.

The 'Star Wars' film franchise is among the most popular installments worldwide, with millions of fans who religiously look forward to the next movie. Before the release of 'The Last Jedi,' these fans decided to put up a show when they went to get their friend from the airport, and it was an absolute beauty.

Clad in their Stormtrooper outfits, the lads showed up at the airport to welcome Darth Vader to their city, ready for the showdown. The folks indeed did steal the show at the premises, with everyone mightily impressed by their costumes and the 'Imperial March' routine.

Brother-In-Law Of The Year

This greeting is a very unconventional welcome, and we love it because it is hilarious. The awkward laugh the man's brother-in-law must have had when he saw the placard would have been one for the ages. Also, it takes a lot of guts to stand there for a very long time in front of everyone with a sign that says 'guy who knocked up my sister.'

We're certain some people may have given him weird stares, but the man chose to stay to the end. Nevertheless, one thing that stands out with this entire exchange is how close the man must be with his sister's husband to make such jokes in good faith - This is one loving family indeed.

Falcons In Flight

This photo is definitely one for the history books because it is not every day that we see countless falcons flying on a plane. Here, a Saudi Prince chose to pay for an entire flight for his 80 falcons, and honestly, this is such a massive flex for the prince and his birds.

Those birds must be so relieved that they do not have to use their wings to fly for a change; but instead, a giant mechanical bird is carrying them. Finally, we would like to send our regards to whoever had to clean the cabin when the falcons got off; that can't have been a pretty sight for sure.

Too Much Information

If there is ever a list of things not to be put on a welcome home banner, this would be at the top of said list. These children chose to welcome their mother home with a sign, and as the naughty people they are, they decide to pull a prank on her. Obviously, she probably immediately turned back as she saw it and wanted to dodge but alas, too late.

Nonetheless, this is a hilarious joke, and the mom should be glad she raised people with good senses of humor. Undoubtedly, we'll be taking notes from these little geniuses to use for our practical jokes.

Bringing new life into the world is such a beautiful thing, but it is not without its extra baggage (no pun intended) like the extra weight moms often pack on after giving birth. This weight may be an issue for some people, and they immediately try to revert to their post-pregnancy body.

So, it is adorable that this new mom instead made a joke about it herself with no hard feelings even though she still looks great. Also, the dad and family present must have had a good laugh about the whole thing, and honestly, all that matters is that both mum and baby are healthy.

Sometimes we see the strangest things when traveling, like these two people who somehow appeared at the same airport just a few weeks apart. These peculiar travelers choose to use a typewriter to type instead of a phone, a laptop, an iPad, or the other modern-day gadgets that are both portable and easy to use.

We would give anything to understand why they chose to inconvenience themselves and the airport security that was shocked to see them check in a typewriter. In addition, the guy by the left seems into the whole eccentric hippie indie writer vibe, and maybe that explains the typewriter.

The Travelling Tot In A Trolley

Traveling around the world is probably the best way to bond with family, yet it's going to be quite a challenge if kids are in tow! Check out this father and daughter tandem in the picture—it seems their vacation is off to a hilarious start as his kid decided to hitch a ride in the most unique way possible.

This dad is probably excited to spend a day at the beach, so it's likely the reason why he didn't notice his luggage got heavy. Or better yet, maybe he's only pretending so his child can have all the fun she wants—that certainly makes him the coolest dad at the airport!
